Western Texas College Women's Golf

McCormick enters his first year as the Mens and Womens Head Golf Coach at Western Texas College.  2016 marks his fourth year with the program, serving as the mens and womens assistant coach since 2012.  In the 2015-16 season, McCormick coached the mens team to a runner up finish at the NJCAA National Championship, tying the best finish ever for the mens program.  He had a hand in coaching a two time All- American recipient, Elliott Fullalove, as well as three WJCAC All Conference players: Elliott Fullalove, Jordan Flynn, and Piers Berrington.  McCormick also had a hand in coaching the womens team to a 7th place finish at the NJCAA National Championships, as well as coaching one All-Regional recipient, Emily Coleman.  McCormick grew up in Snyder and graduated from Snyder High School in 2003.  He played for the SHS golf team coached by Matt Glenn and played for the 2003 State Championship golf team, the only mens title in Snyder High School history.  McCormick was a two time All-District team winner as well as one All-Region winner.  After graduation, he played two years at Abilene Christian University under Coach Mike Campbell.  McCormick graduated from ACU in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.  Upon graduation, he moved to Austin, Texas, caddying for several golf clubs in the area as well caddying for a former high school teammate on the Adams Tour.  He returned to Snyder in 2010 to become the Head Golf Professional at Sammy Baugh Golf Course on the WTC campus.  He is married to Shelley McCormick.
