Sean O'Brien
Head Coach
O'Brien has led the women to 11 MASCAC championships in 13 years as head coach. In addition, the Owls clinched the New England Alliance indoor crown in 2000 and 2003 and the New England Alliance outdoor championship in 1999 and 2009. Also the Westfield men's coach, O'Brien has guided the men's track and field team to 12 MASCAC championships in 14 years and 11 New England Alliance outdoor championships in the past 14 years. Furthermore, the Owls have placed in the top 10 in New England championships in seven of the past nine seasons. Under O'Brien's tutelage, Owl athletes have earned 20 All-America certificates, including a national indoor championship by high jumper Marlee Berg in 2009. O'Brien was selected the New England region women's indoor track and field coach of the year in 2009. O'Brien is also an assistant football coach at Westfield State, directing the defensive secondary. The Orange, Mass., native's coaching stops include: Fitchburg State, Oberlin College in Ohio, Nichols College, Athol High School and Frontier Regional High School.
