Joseph Subasic
Assistant Coach
Subasic joins the WJU staff after 7 seasons as the head coach at Wheeling Park High School. Subasic works closely with the face-off units and also oversees the teams strength and conditioning program. He has been integral in helping grow the game of lacrosse in the state of West Virginia and was a founding member of the West Virginia Scholastic Lacrosse Association, serving as a board member and vice president. Coach Subasic is a graduate of Wheeling Park High School (03), Bethany College (08), and recently completed his Masters in Educational Leadership here at Wheeling Jesuit University (14). Subasic has lived in the Ohio Valley his entire life and has been a big a part of the growth of lacrosse in West Virginia. In addition to coaching at WJU, Subasic is a Special Educator at Elm Grove Elementary school specializing in multi-categorical special education including Autism.

Jared Gillespie
Assistant Coach
Gillespie is set to join the mens Lacrosse staff in 2015 after completing an admirable four-year career at Wheeling Jesuit University. Gillespie was previously a three-year starter at close defense for the Cardinals, and will be working with the defense in his first year as a collegiate coach. Gillespie was a member of the most successful class in program history at Wheeling Jesuit University with a total of 37 wins. In his four-year career with the Cardinals, he scooped up a total of 46 ground balls while being credited with 30 caused turnovers. During his junior year, Gillespie helped lead the cardinals to a 10-3 record and national rankings as high as number 11 in the country, while also upsetting number eight ranked rival Seton Hill 18-12. That year the Cardinals defense finished tenth in the nation in goals against with an average of 7.9. In his senior year campaign, Gillespie helped lead the cardinals to an 8-6 season. He was a key player in the clearing game, aiding in the teams overall clearing percentage of 94%. He was also a critical component of the man down defense that only gave up 12 goals on 62 man down attempts. Off the field, Gillespie is a three-time Deans List honoree, and is also a three-time ECAC All-Academic honors recipient. He graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2015 with a degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Sports Management, as well as obtaining a minor in Criminal Justice. Gillespie plans to further his education, and will be pursuing his Masters in Business Administration. Landon DelPrince
Assistant Coach
DelPrince as the new men's lacrosse head coach. DelPrince has directed the Cardinals program since the beginning of the 2015 fall semester when the head coach position became vacant. The up-and-coming new WJU head coach has been an assistant coach with the program since January 2015. "We knew going into the search for the next men's lacrosse coach was going to be difficult with the timing of when the position came open. We were very happy with the number and quality of the applicant pool, but after the interviews, we realized the best coach to lead this program was already on staff. After spending time with Coach DelPrince, it is easy to see his energy and dedication to Wheeling Jesuit University and to the lacrosse program. We are excited to help him grow in this position," said WJU Director of Athletics Kevin Forde. "I want to sincerely thank our Director of Athletics, Kevin Forde, Carrie Hanna, and the entire search committee for giving me the opportunity to lead this program," said DelPrince. The new Cardinals coach continued, "It is a great honor to have been selected for the position, and I am humbled to follow in the footsteps of all the other coaches that have come before me. With the character and talent we have on this roster, I believe we have the ability to reach a level of success this team has never seen before." DelPrince takes over the full reigns of a WJU, which went 8-6 and fell by a single goal, 10-9, at Mercyhurst in the season finale from a potential Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference playoff spot. The 2016 WJU roster will be full of a mix of led by five All-ECAC honorees, including Rookie of the Year Matt Lee and second team members Dereck Downs and Bryce Brochu. "It is my responsibility to help these student-athletes in any capacity on-and-off the field. I will give this (position and opportunity) my everything," stressed DelPrince. The Dublin, Ohio native finished his WJU playing career as one of the program's all-time leading point scorers. He helped WJU reach as high as No. 11 in the 2014 NCAA DII poll. As a four-year starter at attack, DelPrince finished his college career with 147 points (87 goals & 60 assists). During his senior-year campaign, he was voted team captain and helped lead the Cardinals to a 10-2 regular season, which included an 18-12 victory over No. 8 ranked Seton Hill University. DelPrince led WJU in scoring two consecutive seasons. DelPrince earned his bachelor of science in mathematics at Wheeling Jesuit University in 2014 and is currently enrolled in the University's MBA program. Landon DelPrince
