Eric Small

Head Coach

Small begins his second season at Wheelock in 2016.  Coach Small resurrected the men's lacrosse program in 2015 after spending the 2014 season recruiting.  The Connecticut native started out on the coaching sidelines with Becker College during the 2013 season, directing the offense as an Assistant Coach.  While with the Hawks, he helped guide them to their third-highest win total in school history.  When not coaching on the field, Small was raising Beckers profile off campus, as the Hawks recruiting coordinator, helping produce one of the largest recruiting classes in the programs history.  A 2012 graduate of Western Connecticut State University, Small finished his career as one of the best faceoff men in the history of the program, standing third all time with a career success rate of 57.0% ) in 60 contests.  He capped his career with a selection to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-American team in 2012 and was also named to the Little East Conference All-Conference Second Team for the second straight season.  The midfielder dominated the center of the field in his final season, winning a school-record 67.3% (200-297) of his draws.   He excelled in the classroom throughout his time in Danbury, CT, earning a spot on the Little East All-Academic team in all three years he was eligible for the honor.  A double major in history and political science, he earned a Western Connecticut State Scholar award following his senior campaign and was a member of the National Honor Society for both of his major area of studies.  Small also served as the President of the Colonials Student Athletic Advisory Committee.     Small was raised in Glastonbury, CT, where he attended Glastonbury High School and currently resides in Newton, MA.

Martin Noenickx

Assistant Coach

Noenickx comes to Wheelock after two seasons with the Weymouth High School boys lacrosse program, coaching the freshmen, JV and varsity teams. Additionally, Martin served as an assistant coach for the 21 Lacrosse Black Jacks club team from 2014-2015.  Noenickx played collegiate lacrosse at Western Connecticut State University as a midfielder from 2009-2012. The Scituate, Mass. native was a member of the varsity lacrosse team at Scituate High School, where he and his teammates won back-to-back state championships in 2008 and 2009.  Martin graduated from Western Connecticut State in May of 2014 with a B.S. in Health Promotion Studies and currently resides in his hometown of Scituate, Mass.
