Whitman College Women's Lacrosse

Chris Duncan was hired as the head women's lacrosse coach in 2024. He brings a wealth of experience to the position, primarily from his time with Blues Lacrosse, where he served as both assistant coach and interim head coach from 2020 to 2024. Additionally, he worked as an assistant coach for Whitman's men's MCLA team from 2012 to 2015 and holds numerous coaching certificates through US Lacrosse and other coaching organizations. He has also spent time working in Whitman's admission department. Duncan has played a pivotal role in leading Whitman to the Northwest Conference Tournament for consecutive years (2023, 2024) and was named the 2025 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year after runner up finishes in both the regular season and conference tournament. He has successfully recruited, coached, and mentored numerous all-conference players, including the Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year (2023), two Rookies of the Year (2022, 2024), and players who earned 1st Team, 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention honors. Duncan is an active member of the local community and has played a key role in launching the Walla Walla Youth Lacrosse program. He has previously served on its board and worked as a coach. With the support of the local community, Duncan aims to promote and grow the sport in Southeast Washington and the surrounding areas. Duncan, a Whitman alumnus originally from Barrington, Rhode Island, was a four-year starter and all-conference midfielder for the Whitman men's MCLA lacrosse team. He graduated from Whitman with a B.A. in English in 2010 and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. He resides in Walla Walla with his wife, Becca ('12), and their two girls, Maconda and Wren.

Adira Awe joined Whitman women's lacrosse in the fall of 2021. She also works as the Strategic Partnership Senior Operations Analyst at Relativity. Awe graduated from Loras College in 2019 with a degree in business analytics where she lettered in women's lacrosse. She also earned her Master of Business Administration at Rasmussen University in 2021.

Madeleine Sherry joined the Whitman College women's lacrosse coaching staff in the summer of 2025. Sherry ('25) was one of the top players in program history and lettered four years for the Blues. She left as the program's all-time leading scorer and was a three-time Northwest All-Conference selection.
