Jacob Rydman
Assistant Coach
Rydman has enjoyed watching the program grow and develop and believes as long as we continue to focus on building up our men and women into leaders and stronger disciples of Christ, the running part will take care of itself and will continue to grow stronger. Coach Rydman has 19 yrs of competitive running under him and since 2010, has been competing in ultra-marathons (distances of 50k, 50-mile, 100k, and 100-mile) at an elite level. As for his coaching philosophy, he believes that you can't coach an athlete unless you genuinely love and care about them as an individual. He values the relationships he builds with his athletes - and the healthy community he and Coach Parker try to create - and by believing in and discipling them within a healthy community, they develop the confidence and humility to do extraordinary things as followers of Christ and runners. Coach Rydman is married to his wife Sara (who he met on the WJU team back in 2004) and they have a beautiful daughter named Sadie. Jacob Rydman begins his 8th year as an Assistant Coach for William Jessup's Cross-Country and Track programs and his 7th year alongside Head Coach Parker Daniells.
