Tracy Gastineau
Head Coach
Gastineau became the head softball coach at William Woods in 1998, following one year as the Owls assistant coach. Coach Gastineau graduated from William Woods in 1993 with a degree in accounting and minor in legal studies. In 1998, she earned her masters degree in education curriculum from William Woods. Coach Gastineau was named the American Midwest Conference Coach of the Year in 1998, her first season as skipper. She was also selected the AMC Coach of the Year in 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2014. Coach Gastineau was also the 1998 NFCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year. Gastineau led the Owls to the Region V Championship in 2005 and 2006. She was named Region V Coach of the Year in 1998 & 2005. The Owls qualified for the 1998, 2005, 2006, 2011, 2013 NAIA National Championships. WWU finished the 2006 season ranked 13th in the nation. Coach Gastineau earned her third regular season AMC championship during the 2009 season. The Owls finished the season 33-17 overall, and 13-3 in the AMC. Since she took over the program in 1998, Gastineau has amassed an impressive 645-389 record. On February 27th, 2015, WWU defeated Ave Maria University, 10-0. With the win, Gastineau became the WWU all-time wins leader with 595 wins. Seventeen days later, Gastineau again hit the record books as she earned her 600th career victory when she led the Owls to an 8-0 win over Benedictine-Springfield on March 16th, 2015. In addition to four AMC regular season championships, the Owls have four AMC postseason tournament championships as well. In 2016 Gastineau was named to the 2016 NAIA Coach of Character. The Coach of Character award is given annually to an NAIA head coach who has embraced the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character program, demonstrated character through sport and instilled a culture of community leadership through volunteering or service. Prior to her coaching career, Gastineau was a standout athlete at William Woods. She received softball all-district honors in both 1992 and 1993. During those same years she was honored as an NAIA softball All-American Scholar-Athlete. She also was an All-District performer on the Owls basketball squad during her senior year. Coach Gastineau attended New Bloomfield High School in New Bloomfield, Mo. There she received many honors in both basketball and softball. She was an All-State selection in basketball in 1988 and 1989. She earned All-District and All-Conference honors three of her four years in both basketball and softball. Coach Gastineau, the 2010, 2014, and 2016 AMC Coach of Character Award recipient, also serves as the associate director of athletics at William Woods University.

Tracy Gastineau
Head Coach
Tracy Gastineau was named the Head Softball coach in the fall of 1997 after serving as a graduate assistant coach for William Woods in 1996-1997. Coach Gastineau is a heavily decorated member of William Woods' athletics, entering her 28th season as the Head Softball coach. She has guided many winning teams through the years, boasting an 813-573 career record, the most wins all-time in William Woods history, the 7th most wins by any active softball coach in the NAIA, and the 9th most by any softball coach in the NAIA. Coach Gastineau has accumulated many awards, accolades, and accomplishments throughout her years of leadership over the softball program including NAIA Coach of Character in 2016; and 3 time AMC coach of character in 2010, 2014 and 2016. She has been named AMC coach of the year five times. Gastineau’s teams were twice named the NAIA team of character in 2007 and 2009; and have made 15 NAIA National Championship Appearances, along with 4 AMC regular season championships. Since 1998, they have had 23 NAIA and NFCA All-Americans and numerous All Region selections. In AMC awards, Gastineau has coached 147 AMC All-Conference Athletes, 5 AMC Players of the Year, 4 AMC Pitchers of the Year, 5 AMC Newcomers of the Year, and 4 AMC Freshman of the Year. Coach Gastineau also makes academics a priority for her athletes including 357 Academic All-AMC Athletes, and 131 NAIA Scholar-Athletes. The softball team has been named an NFCA top 10 scholar team eleven times. Gastineau graduated from William Woods University in 1993 with a Bachelor's in Accounting and a minor in Legal Studies. She furthered her education through the Woods by receiving a Master's in Education in 1998. During her time as an undergrad, Coach Gastineau participated in both Softball and Women's Basketball for four years. Primarily a 2nd baseman and catcher in softball, she earned All-District 1st Team, hitting .400 and helping lead the Owls to a 51-12 record and a 7th place finish in the national tournament in her senior campaign. As a basketball player, Gastineau also earned All-District 1st Team and holds the 2nd place position on single season three point percentage at William Woods, shooting 48.2% her senior season. Her junior season, Gastineau was a part of a 25-3 team that made a national tournament appearance. She tallied 2 NAIA scholar athlete accolades as well. For her hard work and dedication, Coach Tracy Gastineau was inducted into the William Woods University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015, and looks to further the tradition of excellence at the Woods. In 2025, William Woods finished 30-17 overall and 18-4 in the AMC, placed second in the AMC regular season, made it to the final four of the AMC Tournament and totaled seven All-AMC accolades (three first-team, three second-team and one third-team). In their first season of Heart of America Athletic Conference Play, Gastineau led the Owls to a 24-23 record that was highlighted by a double-header sweep of Missouri Baptist to secure a spot in the Conference Championship Tournament. Woods boasted three All-Heart honorees with Taylor Baumhoer selected to first team as a pitcher and Ella Aguiar and Addie Rhea selected to the second team. Rhea and Kaitlyn Plassmeyer were awarded Golden Gloves for their defensive performances on the year.

Mia Santos
Assistant Coach
Coach Santos joined the Woods coaching staff in the fall of 2024 after graduating from William Woods in the spring of 2023 majoring in Education with a minor in American Sign Language. Mia is excited to make a significant impact in the lives of her players by using her coaching role to aid the students in becoming the best versions of themselves that they can be. Coach Santos takes special attention to the "student" side of student-athlete and understands the focus and determination it takes to play softball at this level. "I am beyond excited to join Coach Gastineau staff's at my Alma Mater and help guide these young women into becoming the best overall person that they can be." Coach Santos is assigned a particular duty in the control of the Owls' pitching staff as the Owls look to hang another conference banner in the spring of 2025.
