Straight will begin his second year at the helm in 2016-17 after a successful first season. The Warriors advanced to the NCAA Regionals after a second place finish at the NSIC Championships. The team finished 16th at the Super Regional. Michael Schmitz was named a PING All-Region performer in 2016. Straight served as an assistant last season for the Warriors and helped lead the team to a third-place finish in the NSIC/US Bank Championship. Straight worked closely on the course with Mitch Holm and Jonathan Lindquist, who finished first and fourth in the event. Straight has a long history of coach a variety of sports, including football and basketball in addition to golf. He has experience as a caddie on the PGA, Nike, Web.com and celebrity tours and has competed as a player in several state amateur events.
