Adam Volbrecht
Assistant Coach
Volbrecht is in his ninth season as head coach of the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team. Volbrecht, who spent the 2007 season as an assistant coach prior to being named head coach, also serves as Director of Residence Life at WLC. The three-time NACC Coach of the Year guided the Warriors to a second straight NACC title and NCAA Championship appearance in 2016, as WLC overcame a two-stroke deficit after two rounds by firing third and fourth round tournament lows of 298 and 313 to win the title by 14 shots over runner-up Edgewood. Wisconsin Lutheran's third-round 298 (+10) was a NACC Championship record and its four-round total of 1,232 is the lowest in conference history. The Warriors lowered their stroke total by seven shots and moved up four spots from their first appearance at nationals. Volbrecht coached the Warriors to the program's first-ever conference championship in 2015, as they defeated Concordia Wisconsin in a dramatic one-hole playoff at the NACC Championship. Volbrecht has coached six different players who have received a total of 11 All-NACC honors in eight seasons as head coach, including Roger Fleming Players of the Year Jacob Mortell (2016) and Danny Behm (2009). A four-year letterwinner (2000-2003) on the Warriors men's golf team, Volbrecht served as team captain for two seasons. His career was highlighted by a second-place finish at the Lakeland Invitational during his senior season. He graduated from WLC in 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in English. He went on to receive his master's degree in student affairs administration from Ball State University in 2006. Volbrecht attended Badger High School in Lake Geneva, and was a two-year letterwinner on the Badgers' men's golf team. Volbrecht, who was born June 21, 1982, currently resides in Muskego with his wife, Taryn. They have two sons, Khalil and Jevan.
