Ashley Goodwin
Head Coach
Ashley Goodwin was elevated to the position of head coach of Wittenberg University's softball program in 2023 after joining the program as an assistant coach in 2019. She became the 10th head coach in the history of the program. , Goodwin built a knowledge of the program and university foundations to carry the Tigers into the future. Goodwin possesses high-level playing experience as a four-year standout at The Ohio State University. While with the Buckeyes, Goodwin was a three-year starter on the infield, earning two Gold Glove awards, and she served as a team captain as a senior. In her first season at the helm, Wittenberg posted records of 21-21 overall and 7-7 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), good for fourth place in the regular season standings and a berth in the NCAC Tournament. After the season, three players earned All-NCAC awards, five Tigers earned Academic All-District awards, and Meghan McCans was recognized for her performance with third-team All-Region honors. Outside of Wittenberg, the California native, was the Director of Fastpitch Softball with Pauer Sports Performance, managing and developing their 8U through 18U programs. With Pauer Softball, Goodwin manages and organizes program practices for all coaches at each level and coordinates parent and coach communications. In her role with Pauer, Goodwin has helped promote academic success and personal growth to multiple athletes, guiding them to both on and off field successes while helping them continue their athletic career at the collegiate level.

Dan Davis
Assistant Coach
Dan Davis joined the Wittenberg softball coaching staff as an assistant in August 2023. He previously served as an assistant coach with nearby Kenton Ridge High School during the 2022-23 season. The Parkersburg, WV, native joined the Tigers' softball program after retiring from the United States Army in 2021. He achieved the rank of Sergeant Major (SGM) and served multiple combat deployments, including Iraq and Afghanistan, during his 20-year military career. Davis was the head softball coach of the All-Army Softball program in 2019 and has coached travel softball teams in North Carolina, Arizona, and Ohio. Davis brings a mental performance edge to the Tigers' program as a certified mental performance coach. He has worked with numerous high-level athletes and teams on the mental approach, understanding mental performance is the missing link to help athletes get from where they are to where they want to be, in athletics and in life. Davis earned a bachelor's degree in general studies from Ohio Valley University, and he has a master's degree in sport administration/coaching philosophy from American Military University. Davis resides in Springfield, Ohio, with his wife Mandy (Goin) Davis, and their three children.
