Lynn Curylo
Head Coach
Curylo was named the 10th head coach in Wright State softball history on October 29, 2010. The 2015 campaign saw the Raiders win 21 of their final 37 games overall and remain in contention for first place in the Horizon League regular season standings until the final day of the regular season. After dropping the opening game of the league tournament, WSU won four straight elimination games before falling in the championship game to host Oakland. Four Wright State players received Second Team All-League honors in Hanna Floyd, Jess Gorman, Becka Peterson and Montana Wear while three were named to the All-Tournament Team in Gorman, Ashley Sharp and Honnah Susor. In 2014, the Raiders went 11-5 to end the regular season as Wright State finished second in the league standings. Four Raiders received All-League honors, including Jess Gorman to the First Team, Krystian DeWitt to the Second Team and Libby Pfeffer and Peterson to the All-Newcomer Team. Wright State also received the honor of hosting the Horizon League Tournament and Gorman was named to the All-Tournament Team A seven-game winning streak, two wins in the Horizon League Tournament and a win over Michigan State of the Big 10 capped the 2013 season as Kaitlyn Kite and DeWitt were named Second Team All-League. In 2012, Kristi Boreing and DeWitt were selected Second Team All-Horizon League whie Gorman was named to the All-Newcomer Team. Off the field, junior Colleen Schneider was named a Capital One Third Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA and was WSU's female recipient of the Dr. Carl Benner Award for the top grade point average by a junior or senior. The 2011 season started with a championship at the Belmont/Hampton Inn-Brentwood Tournament as well as the Winthrop/adidas Invitational a few weeks later. The season was capped by six players being honored by the Horizon League as Louie Haney was named to the First Team, Mollie Berry, China Frost, Justine Shilt and Chelsea Archer to the Second Team and Archer and Kacie Rapshus to the All-Newcomer Team. Prior to coming to Wright State, Curylo assisted with pitching and catching, outfield and offense at Illinois. In the two years that she was part of the coaching staff, the Fighting Illini posted a record of 74-25, including a 28-9 mark in the Big Ten. After the 2009 squad went 29-17 overall and 12-7 in conference, Illinois went 45-8 in 2010, 16-2 in the Big Ten, and finished second at the NCAA Columbia Regional behind Missouri. Before going to Illinois, Curylo was an assistant at Tennessee State for two seasons. During her first season in 2007, the Tigers finished 35-23, the first winning season in the history of the program. In a four-year span, two at Illinois and two at Tennessee State, Curylo was involved with 125 wins. Prior to her time at Tennessee State, Curylo was the head coach at Milikan High School in Long Beach, California, from 2001-06. She led the team to the CIF championship in 2005, earning Coach of the Year honors for the accomplishment. Curylo has a connection with Horizon League softball history as she played for UIC from 1994-97, with the Flames a part of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference (now the Horizon League) the final three years. A standout outfielder, she was a First Team All-MCC selection in 1996 and 1997 and is currently fifth on the school's all-time list in triples with 12. Curylo was part of the 1994 UIC squad that won 53 games and advanced to the College World Series. During her career, the Flames won 198 games overall and posted a league mark of 58-3. Curylo earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from UIC in 1998.

Dave Brittingham
Assistant Coach
Brittingham is retired from General Motors/Delphi with 36 years of service. He retired as an Employee Assistance Professional (EAP), earning certifications in EAP and Chemical Dependency. Brittingham attended Sinclair Community College (labor studies) and Ohio State (addiction studies) before earning a degree in counseling from Corllins University. He served in the Military from January 1967 until July 1970 doing tours in the Mediterranean and Vietnam. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and three air medals while serving in Vietnam. Brittingham has played and coached for 40 years. After first playing fast pitch in the military, Dave coached in the Xenia baseball program for nine years, six as an assistant and three as head coach compiling a record of 46-35. Brittingham began coaching in the Miami Valley Xpress (one of the top travel ball organizations in Ohio) in 1987. He has coached the 18u teams since 2001, including the summer and fall college tour team. His teams have had two seventh place,a fifth place and a third place finishes in World Series play. All players that played for Brittingham since 2001 have went on to play in college with over half going on to play at the Division I level. In 2012, Brittingham was inducted into the Ohio Amateur Softball Association Hall of Honor. Brittingham lives in Xenia with his wife Julie.

Elisabeth Beirne
Assistant Coach
Beirne joined the Wright State softball coaching staff in July, 2014. Beirne came to WSU after serving as an assistant coach at Georgia Southern, where she worked primarily with the pitching staff and was the recruiting and travel coordinator. In her six seasons there, Beirnes pitchers garnered five Southern Conference (SoCon) Pitcher of the Year honors, five Second Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association of America (NFCA) All-Region honors as well as a SoCon Freshman of the Year award. In 2014, Sarah Purvis became the first pitcher in league history to earn three straight SoCon Pitcher of the Year Awards. Beirne helped Purvis re-write the Georgia Southern record books as the senior set new career records in victories (61), strikeouts (757) and shutouts (24). Additionally, Purvis threw six no-hitters with three of those going down as perfect games. She finished her four-year career ranked 12th in Division I history for perfect games and 11th in no-hitters. The dominating work of the Eagles pitching staff helped Georgia Southern record SoCon regular season championships in 2012 and 2014 as well as SoCon Tournament titles in 2012 and 2013. Those tournament wins sent the Eagles to the NCAA Tournament where the Eagles scored a perfect game in the win over Hampton at the 2013 Gainesville Regional. Georgia Southerns 2014 season featured another dominant campaign by the pitchers. Purvis picked up her third straight Pitcher of the Year award while the squad lowered its team ERA to 2.09 with 442 combined strikeouts and a .200 opponent batting average. The Eagles secured the SoCon regular season championship in the programs final year in the league and posted 13 shutouts. During the 2013 season, the Eagle pitching staff posted a 2.39 team ERA and 33 victories. The squad of hurlers held opponents to a .227 batting average while striking out 396 batters. Purvis earned her second straight Pitcher of the Year award and helped the Eagles reach the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. The Eagles clinched the tournament crown with an 11-inning shutout of UNC Greensboro. In 2012, under Beirnes tutelage, Purvis became the first 20-game winner in school history with 253 strikeouts on the year. Beirne also helped Miles return from injuries which prevented her from pitching in the fall and fostered the growth of a pair of freshmen, Brooke Red and Marla Thompson. Red finished the year with the leagues second-best ERA and a 10-1 overall record. The staff also set school records for wins and strikeouts. For the 2011 campaign, Beirne worked with Allie Miles, helping the freshman to earn SoCon Freshman of the Year honors in the circle. Miles struck out a 170 batters on the season and held opposing batters to a .218 average. The GSU staff as a whole posted a 3.47 ERA with a .248 opponent batting average. Prior to coming to Georgia Southern, Beirne spent one season at Tennessee State as the pitching coach and began her coaching career as a graduate assistant for two seasons at Liberty, where she was in charge of pitching and academic progress. In her first year at Liberty, two pitchers recorded 16 wins, marking only the second time the university had two 15-game winners on the same staff. In addition, during the 2006 season, the pitching staff set a school record with 351 strikeouts, surpassing the previous record of 291, and the team ERA improved from 3.08 in 2005 to 2.44. Beirne, a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2004. A standout pitcher at Olivet, she accumulated a 74-26 career record in the circle, including 32 shutouts. In 2003, Beirne helped lead Olivet to a third place finish at the NAIA national tournament and a team record 61 wins, posting a personal record of 29-7 with a 1.61 ERA. Beirne was selected to the 2003 National Christian Colleges Athletic Association All-American First Team. She followed that up with a 21-win campaign in 2004 and again led Olivet to an impressive 51-17 overall record and was an All-Chicago Collegiate Athletic Conference selection, as well as an NCCAA All-Tournament team member.
